The 3rd Annual Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islanders Health & Fitness Day 2013 MOVE IT! was a SUCCESS! Falling on the weekend of 4th of July, hundreds of families from King, Pierce & Thurston county made it a Family day with Fun activities, Free Food, and great new ways to stay healthy. Even the clouds couldn't keep us from Moving it!
A HUGE Mahalo to our guests of honor, from the inspirational journey of Menne Talivaa Hall, and an amazing presentation from Dr. Jake Fitisemanu. Also thanks to "Mr. Hawaii" Laumatalelei "Hio" Pelesasa for his enthusiasm and professional stunt rider"Hollywoodb" Billy Winn for an Awesome show. Thanks to NFL Defensive Tackle of Jacksonville Jaguars Roy Miller & Defensive End of Seattle Seahawks Michael Bennett for their great support. Kia ora! to our authentic Maori instructor of the Haka circuit Luman Ohaia for his great teaching.
The event was made possible through year round fundraising but also financial sponsorship and private donations by Asia Pacific Cultural Center, Governor's Interagency Council on Health Disparities, Northwest Association of Pacific Americans, International Samoa Help Mission Alliance.
